The Day is Now Coming and Now is:

We read in the gospel of John:Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks to worship him. (John 4:23) Believe it or not, that was the original vision of our Pilgrim Fathers and Mothers. It would seem that now we are on the precipice of a new order for this old world. More than perhaps ever before in these ages of the world, those who wield power over us, by appointment or election, seem to be ego driven more than God driven. Where we are on God’s timetable only the Father knows. Perhaps the time of the return of Jesus the Messiah of God may be fixed, or indeed, perhaps God will negotiate that time by how the human race acts whether to glory or catastrophe. We still proclaim Jesus Christ crucified that we might be saved, yet the world largely ignores him, preferring self-worship to the worship of God. We still long for that day when we will worship the Father in the Spirit and in Truth! With all of our sacramental observance, what is most essential may be ignored. God the Spirit moves our hearts toward the receiving of the Son, yet the world around us and our own fallen natures resist at times. If we will but ask God for forgiveness and redemption, the death and resurrection will be applied to our souls. Some may be unaware of it, but the renowned Pastor and evangelist Billy Graham and Queen Elizabeth were good friends and this previous head of the Church of England believed this very Truth as essential to inheriting eternal life. So as Jesus once said to the outwardly “religious” of his day: “You study c the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life. “I do not accept glory from human beings, but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God.” (John 5:39—44) So come—believe—receive and be united to the Father and Spirit through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks to worship him. (John 4:23)
